Our Connection with West Asia

We have a long-standing and well-respected relationship with the West Asia region.

From sourcing crude oil to attracting important investments, our engagements with the West Asia region have flourished over the years and helped us take the company to new global heights.

Our Chairman Mukesh Ambani was born in Yemen, where his father and RIL’s Founder-Chairman, Shri Dhirubhai Ambani, had worked before moving back to India.

More recently, we have attracted significant partnerships and investments from giants such as Saudi Aramco, the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, Mubadala of the UAE, and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.

In 2021, we entered a Strategic Partnership with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) for establishing a world-class chemical project at TA’ZIZ in Ruwais. We also welcomed HE Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Chairman of Saudi Aramco and Governor of Public Investment Fund, as an Independent Director on the Board of Reliance.
